THE AUSTRALIAN 4WD ACADEMY

The hallmark of the Australian 4WD Academy is training by experts with a hands-on, in depth knowledge of 4WD driving in all conditions. The training courses cover everything from the most simple tasks right through to advanced recovery techniques. From our base in Broken Hill in western New South Wales, we provide professional training that is nationally recognised for both Certificate III of the Outdoor Recreation Training Package and the Certificate III Rural Production Training Package. Our clients include National Parks and Wildlife Service, mining companies, Country Energy, Country Water, School of the Air, various government departments and private clients. Australian 4WD Academy is a sister company to Tristate Safaris, a winner of national and state awards for their specialist Australian outback safari tours. Tristate Safaris offer tag along participation for persons wishing to tour in their own vehicle. A combination of professional training prior to departure, plus the extra confidence to tackle the local conditions, makes for a rewarding outback tour experience. The Director of Training at Australian 4WD Academy is Michael McCulkin. Michael spent 20 years with NSW Police and was an instructor with the Police Driver Training School for eight years. Michael is well known as the foremost trainer in the area with extensive experience, a love of the Australian outback and the ability to convey his knowledge to others.
