Be amazed by the diversity of landscapes and experiences
on this 7 Day outback adventure. Visit the Corner
Country, outback National Parks, enjoy a farm stay and
sleep underground. 7 days/6 nights.
Day 1: Depart
Broken Hill and travel towards
Mutawintji National Park, enjoying a cuppa in a classic
gum lined dry creek bed along the way. Enjoy a short
bush walk and a picnic lunch at Mutawintji. Then head on
to White Cliffs, which was Australia’s earliest opal
field. Experience sleeping underground at the
Dugout
Motel. (L,D)
Day 2: Spend the morning exploring
White
Cliffs, meet some real outback characters and try your
luck noodling for opal. Travel through Paroo-Darling
National Park on our way to Tilpa for a stop at the pub,
which is about a hundred years old and full of
character. Continue on to enjoy some more country
hospitality at Trilby Station, which is an historic
130,000 acre sheep station on the banks for the Darling

Day 3: Follow the Darling River Run to Louth,
subject of one of
Henry Lawson's poems. Arrive at the
historic river port of Bourke for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Spend the morning exploring the
highlights of
Bourke before heading west to Wanaaring
for a stop beside the Paroo River, then on to
Sturt
National Park, and settle in to the accommodation at the
heritage listed Mt Wood Homestead.

Day 5: Enjoy a scenic drive through the Gorge
loop road, walk around the outdoor Pastoral Museum and
head to
Cameron Corner, where the three state meet.
Cross through the famous
Dingo Fence and overnight in Queensland at the Corner Store cabins. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Marvel at the diversity of landscapes
and wildlife that is Sturt National Park, well known for
it’s numbers of red kangaroo, and arrive at
Tibooburra
during the course of the afternoon. Tibooburra means
‘lots of boulders’ and is the most remote town in New South Wales.
Accommodation at the Family Hotels cabins.

Day 7: Some of the ‘must see’ places in
Tibooburra include the Museum/National Parks office, and
Golden Gully. Then drive to
Milparinka, once a thriving
centre of the local Albert goldfields, and now almost a
ghost town. Walk back in time with a visit to the
Courthouse Museum. Visit Depot Glen and Pooles Grave, an
area made famous when the explorer Charles Sturt made an
enforced camp here during his search for an inland sea.
Arrive back in Broken Hill about 4.30pm for transfer to
