Day 1:

After an early start we begin the day with a peaceful cruise on the wetlands of the Darling River then tour the spectacular Menindee Lakes System and Menindee township.  Explore the area to visit a number of the lakes in the system (when full the lakes hold more water than Sydney Harbour), then on to Kinchega National Park.  This area is an oasis for bird and wildlife, with a variety of landscapes that include river and lakes, ancient sand dunes and salt bush plains.  This afternoon we follow the Darling River south towards Bindara Station for our overnight accommodation. First settled in 1849 the property has a wealth of colonial history. Enjoy a campfire dinner with your hosts.  (L,D)
